Halford Busby partnered with PBK Architects on the Hardin Jefferson I.S.D. renovation in Sour Lake, Texas, which is northeast of Houston and just west of Beaumont. The project included:

the construction of a new middle school building with a total of 137,216 square feet for an estimated total of $41,005,892.
a new field house with concession stands and restrooms with a total of 21,688 square feet for an estimated total of $6,921,357, and
a new auditorium with a total of 9,508 square feet and an estimated total of $5,086,047.

The project also covered the demolition of the existing buildings and associated sitework.

The $52 million project is scheduled to break ground in June 2021. The new field house and auditorium have a planned completion date in 2022. The new middle school building will be completed in 2023.

Halford Busby provided construction documents at the 50 percent mark, construction documents at the 75 percent mark and construction documents at the 95 percent mark.
