Construction Estimates for Boys and Girls Club of Cooke County

Halford Busby partnered with EIKON Consultant Group on the construction of a new facility for Boys and Girls Club of Cooke County, providing two estimates at the Design Development phase and Construction Documents phase. Located in Gainesville, Texas, the Club’s mission is to enable all young people, especially those in most need, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. For more than 60 years, the Club has served multiple generations of local families and touts a full range of alumni ─ from mechanics to NFL players. The goal of the project was to provide a state-of-the-art facility for the Club that tripled the space of the preceding, outdated building. The new building covers 33,916 square feet. The facility is located at 315 N. Denton Street and opened May 7, 2016.

The project features:

• a welcoming entrance,
• youth and senior gym,
• administrative space,
• senior activity space,
• youth gaming lobby and learning lab,
• multi-purpose room and
• youth art studio.

The new layout of the building improved the accessibility and sight lines for the staff, while also providing clean and clear divisions between different age groups using the facility.

Building materials included a standing seam metal roofing system as well as a fully adhered TPO roofing system. The exterior make-up consisted of modular brick veneer, manufactured stone veneer and window glazing. Beyond the building itself, the scope of work also included adjacent athletic fields. The cost of the new construction is $7.2 million.
