Construction Estimates for School in Cy-Fair ISD

Halford Busby collaborated with VLK Architects of Houston to provide construction estimates for a school in Cy-Fair I.S.D. Specifically, this was for an addition to the existing Cy-Fair I.S.D. Exhibit Center on Telge Road in Cypress, Texas. The facility is used for the district’s annual Livestock Show and Sale as well as other career and technical education events throughout the year. Additionally, this project involved the renovation of the Burns Science Resource Center (BSRC). A break-down of these two projects includes:

• The Exhibit Center addition will encompass 8,785 square feet and costs an estimated $6,488,681. The facility will include stadium-style and floor seating for 1,593 guests as well as meeting space and more restrooms.
• The BSRC renovation covers 13,661 square feet for an estimated total of $688,067. This features a new fire sprinkler system, a new chiller and an upgrade to the HVAC mechanical system, as well as installation of a new emergency power generator and roof replacement.

Both projects are slated for completion in December 2021 and were part of the 2019 bond.

Halford Busby provided Schematic Design, Construction Documents at the 50 percent mark, Construction Documents at the 75 percent mark and Construction Documents at the 95 percent mark.
