Construction Estimates on College Station’s City Hall

Halford Busby teamed with Kirksey Architecture to provide two construction estimates on the City of College Station (Texas)’s City Hall. The first was the programming estimate that was delivered in late 2018, while the schematic design estimate was provided in May 2019.

The new three-story building includes 79,083 gross square feet with a total construction cost of $39 million. The building features a Council Chamber, training rooms, planning and development offices, a situation room, fiscal services space, a multi-purpose space as well as space for community services. The project also includes new parking areas as well as landscape and irrigation.

The new City Hall will bring together dozens of local departments and hundreds of employees under one roof, making it easier for citizens to work with City Hall. The new building is being constructed with a train depot theme as a nod to College Station’s history as a railroad town. After 50 years of use, the existing City Hall will be demolished and the new structure will be erected behind the former City Hall, which was dedicated in 1969 on the 1100 block of Texas Avenue.

The City Hall building is currently under construction by CORE Construction and is scheduled to be finished in the spring of 2022.
