100 Women Who Care, CyFair hits Major Milestone with help from Local, Female-Owned Business Halford Busby as the Organization’s First Corporate Sponsor

HOUSTON, TX, August 23, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — One Hundred Women Who Care, CyFair held its first quarterly meeting in Fall of 2016. The organization uses the power of Collective Giving Circles to raise money for local charities.

Each quarter, members gather for ONE hour to donate $100 per member with the intention of sending ONE charity home with $10,000.

The group is currently 95 women strong leaving them just shy of their third quarter goal.

Upon hearing the news, local Cypress business owner Esther Halford, of Halford Busby, stepped in with the group’s FIRST corporate donation sending them over the $10,000 mark and adding to an overall contribution of $78,082 since the group’s inception.

This quarter’s recipient, The Landing, is a drop-in center located on a nationally known hotspot for prostitution in Houston, TX. It is here that survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation can receive assistance with basic needs and sharing resources.

The check will be awarded to The Landing on August 30th at 10 AM. The Landing is located at 9894 Bissonnet Street, #605 in Houston, TX 77036. The Landing is a 501c(3) non-profit organization.

CyFair Chapter Founder, Jodi Johnston said “we are over the moon to have hit this incredible milestone of exceeding $10,000. Our members are amazing. They show up for our group each quarter, they show up for themselves and they show up for their community.

We couldn’t have accomplished this milestone without the help of our corporate sponsor. The fact that a female-owned business just makes it so much more impactful.

When women work together and support one another we can accomplish anything.”
