Daniel Webster Elementary School educates approximately 350 students in grades prekindergarten through fifth grade. It is located at 3815 S. Franklin Street in Dallas, TX. In mid-2020, Halford Busby worked with Brown Reynolds Watford Architects, Inc. (BRW) in providing Pre-Design, Design Development, 75 percent and 100 percent Construction Documents estimates. Construction taking place at the school included both additions and renovations. Highlights were:
- accessibility entry,
- a new secure front entrance vestibule,
- reception and lobby renovations,
- new kitchen additions,

- cafeteria renovations,
- new teaching surfaces in the classrooms,
- new carpet and VCT flooring,
- interior paint and lighting,
- locker removal,
- replaced ceilings,
- exterior improvements such as painting, outdoor lighting and landscaping,
- replacing the playground paving and striping,
- MEP system upgrades and a new fire alarm system,
- a new marquee sign,
- new room and wayfinding signage,
- general site improvements, as well as
- new windows and interior finish improvements.
The new entry doubles the height of the vestibule, giving a more spacious look while still being welcoming to guests. The kitchen and cafeteria efforts extend the school’s food service capabilities with upgraded equipment and dining capacity. Removing the lockers from the corridors allows student work to be displayed, fostering student pride. This also allowed for the creation of collaboration niches and breakout spaces.
Gross square footage of the renovations for the school was 84,155 square feet. The new additions put the school at a total of 88,113 gross square feet. The renovation and addition are estimated at $15.79 million.
