Construction Cost Estimates of TWU’s Jones Hall
In 2019-2020, Halford Busby worked with Brown Reynolds Watford Architects, Inc. (BRW) to provide construction cost estimates on the renovation of Jones Hall at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. The project included remodeling the second and third floors to house a new counseling center and new dental hygiene clinic. The effort included 36,500 square feet of renovation space. The original building was constructed in 1961.
More specifically, this endeavor comprises the following:
- Creating additional space to allow the dental hygiene program to grow and satisfy accreditation requirements.
- 10 more simulation stations,
- up to five additional dental chairs, and
- multiple radiology rooms.
- Additional space would also accommodate the vital work of Counseling and Psychological Services.
Halford Busby provided a schematic design (SD) estimate and a design development (DD) estimate as well as construction documents at the 50 percent and 95 percent marks for this renovation. The renovations were expected to take eight months to complete. The total project budget was estimated at $12 million with an anticipated completion date of fall 2022.
