Construction Estimates for Hall Elementary:
Walter Hall Elementary is an e-stem magnet school for kindergarten through fifth grade with a total of 509 students. It is located at 5931 Meadowside in League City, Texas. The school building was originally constructed in 1978. In addition to the aging building, approximately 150 students at Hall Elementary were learning in temporary buildings due to overcrowding, so there was a clear need for renovation and expansion.
In mid-2020, Halford Busby worked with VLK Architects to provide a 50 percent Construction Documents estimate. The project included 70,000 square feet of building renovation encompassing the renovation and reconfiguration of the:
- administrative/instructional spaces,
- collaborative areas,
- support spaces,
- the library,
- kitchen and
- the demolition of the old gym.
The effort also included:
- the replacement of tile floors, casework and wall coverings,
- new doors and door jams,
- painting of walls and doors throughout campus,
- ceiling/grid replacement,
- technology upgrades in the classrooms,
- marker board replacement,
- restroom renovations,
- exterior building veneer repair,
- roof replacement,
- fire and life safety (fire sprinkler) improvements and
- new parking areas.
This re-configuration and renovation of the entire campus brings the facility up to current education and safety standards. The renovation is estimated at $16,914,984. The priority repairs are estimated at $3,759,359.
