Overview: Construction Estimates on Texas Tech University
In the summer of 2018, Halford Busby began work with Kirksey Architecture on Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine in Amarillo, Texas to provide one program estimate. The project consists of two buildings, the first of which is approximately 180,000 square feet and will serve as the school’s academic headquarters. The second building will be located about two miles away as the Mariposa Station, which will be approximately 81,000 square feet dedicated to large animals skills training.
The project will also include many office spaces, laboratories, classrooms, x-ray suites and animal exam suites. The project is on track to welcome the inaugural class in the fall of 2021. The construction budget is estimated at $90 million, funded by private donations, foundations and the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation.
